Merlin wants to be left alone. No one knows why Merlin is on Anarchy Island or why he decided to turn the local Theater into his home, but he's there and that's that. It might have something to do with that awesome magical staff that he carries around... but don't ask him. Merlin doesn't want to get involved in anyone else's business, doesn't want to be annoyed, bothered, or taken on any adventuers... unless it is for his benifit, of course. He doesn't mind the company of Charlie or Hollywood, but other than that, leave him alone. Merlin likes tacos and his freedom on Anarchy Island to live how he wants. He will kill to protect it.
